Map of Support
This map represents all of the countries in which Asia Elephant Support has funded projects since 2006.
VETERINARY CARE - AES sponsors salaries for veterinarians in Thailand and Sumatra. We provide funds for ongoing preventative medicine and supplies to those caring for elephants in Laos, Cambodia and Nepal.
HUMAN-ELEPHANT COEXISTENCE & CONSERVATION - AES supports programs to monitor elephant migratory patterns while also funding patrol units in elephant habitat and protective fencing to mitigate human-elephant conflict with neighboring villages in Sumatra, Myanmar, India and Bhutan.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE - AES responds to calls for emergency aid during devastating floods and prolonged droughts in Myanmar and Sumatra. We fund supplemental milk and fodder for elephants in need.
ELEPHANT ENDOTHELIOTROPIC HERPESVIRUS - AES supports efforts to eradicate EEHV by funding research and the treatment of elephants with EEHV across Asia.
EDUCATION - AES sponsors workshops and training for mahouts, veterinarians and others working to ensure the welfare of elephants across Asia.
Elephants throughout Asia need YOUR help!
Since 1986 the asian elephanT has been listed as an endangered species.
Since then, their numbers have continued to decline due to deforestation, human encroachment on habitat and human-elephant conflict. AES is an all-volunteer run organization, which means your donation goes directly to funding projects. Your contributions support efforts to protect elephants in the wild and care for elephants under the care of humans all across Asia.
Our Logo
Our logo symbolizes humankind's long relationship with the elephant, which spans for several millennia. The decorations on the head represent a ceremonial headdress or painting. Human hands cradling the face signify that the future of Asian elephants is in our hands.
